Members of United Zongo for Bawumia have expressed their profound appreciation and relentlessly vowed to retain Nana Akufo as the president on Jan.7 due to to his unprecedented achievement as president in the last three years.
Addressing the media in Accra, the Brong Ahafo regional Communication Officer of the group, Iddrisu Mohammed Bello said President Akufo Addo’s achievement were made possible as a result of his affable relationship with Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia which culminated into his role and relevance in the administration of the NPP government.
He said “we are poised to renew your mandate as president to do more of the remarkable achievements in the last three years”.
According to the Muslim and Zongo caucus, Ghana has had tremendous improvement in economic growth since the assumption of office of Nana Akufo Addo hence the need to retain the NPP in power for another term.
He stressed “with this healthy relationship, it does not amaze us that, though you inherited mess and collapsed economy, your government has made this great strides in the areas of education, industrialisation, agriculture, health, economy among others in the country’s development”.
Mohammed Bello also stated that unlike the previous Government where the vice-president was relegated to the background without any meaningful contribution to the nation’s development, President Akufo Addo recognised and appreciated the role of the vice-President in the development of the country and has therefore chosen him again as the running mate.
“As the President you have changed the recent narrative of the roles, thus the recognition and relevance of the vice-presidency, Dr. Bawumia has had your fullest support and recognition as a running mate and a vice-President, he is clearly seen as number 2 in government and never have you as a president compromised or underestimated his status in the government you head. It is refreshing how much boundless doors you have opened for Dr. Bawumia as the vice-president”.
The group further assured Nana Akufo Addo of an overwhelming endorsement by Ghanaians on Dec.7
