The Light Foundation, Nakeeyat- the-Poet marks Eid-al-adha at Teshie Childrens’ Home



As part of activities marking the Eid-al-adha festival, The light Foundation in partnership with Nakeeyat- the-poet, have donated food packages, bags of sachet water, packs of bottled water among others to the Teshie Childrens’ Home in Accra.

The gesture which also forms part of Nakeeyat- the -poet birthday celebrations did not only end at the Teshie Childrens’ home but was also extended to some of the residents in communities such as La, Osu and parts of Accra.

The CEO of The Light Foundation, Sheikh Ali Abubakar Napari in a presentation said the donation was in fulfillment of the organisation’s annual support to the less privileged in society irrespective of their religious affiliations “ we share no matter the portion, it is for this reason that we have partnered Nakeeyat on her birthday to give to these little ones, every child, moslem, non moslem need to be supported.” He noted

He also admonished Ghanaians particularly moslem youth to desist from engaging in any form of acts that has the tendency to disrupt peace and unity in their communities especially before, during and after the December elections.

Touching on the COVID-19 pandemic that has killed millions of people across the globe and infected thousands of Ghanaians, Sheikh Napari advised moslems to continuously observe the protocols to help reduce the spread of the disease despite recent reduction in restrictions announced by the government.

Mr. Moses Lamptey,  Administrator at the Teshie Childrens’ Home who received the donation on behalf of the children thanked The Light foundation, Nakeeyat and perpetual Impact for their supports.

”We are so grateful you are doing this to help humanity, we want everyone out there to emulate their example and always remember to put a smile on the faces of these little ones.” He added.

Perpetual Impact, an NGO also supported the Children’s Home with bottles of water and pieces of nose masks.

Young Nakeeyat expressed gratitude to all those who supported her especially The Light Foundation for the partnership in making her birthday successful ‘People don’t visit here much so I have chosen to celebrate my birthday with them to show them all of us love them.”

The light Foundation is an Islamic Non-Governmental Organisation aimed at supporting the vulnerable and needy in society.

For the past decade, the organisation has lightened the heart of many vulnerable people and deprived communities in various parts of the country not only by meeting their physical needs but improving their spiritual wholeness as well.

The Light Foundation (TLF) operates in the following areas: water sanitation and Hygiene, women and children issues and advocacy.

Other areas includes  infrastructure, scholarship and skills development.
