The Founder and flagbearer of the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), Percival Kofi Akpaloo has announced his running mate Mrs. Margaret Obrian Sarfo for the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections slated for 7th December 2020.
The Presidential hopeful made this known at a national conference and outdooring ceremony of the Presidential candidate and running mate at a colourful ceremony in Accra.
Addressing party members and supporters at a ceremony in Accra, Mr. Kofi Akpaloo said when given the mandate, the health of the citizenry will be his governance priority thus his administration will build a ten (10) new state-of-the-art modern hospitals across the country and add value to all existing health infrastructure, adding that Ghana will be recognized as a medical tourism hub in the West Africa sub-region.
Touching on education, the Presidential candidate said university education under his tenure will be free as Senior High School (SHS) graduates will engage in a 1year national service with an inclusion of 6 months military service and also provide free Wi-Fi in all schools and colleges nationwide for internet services.
“My administration will also set up a US$10.00 billion job fund to enable young Ghanaian entrepreneurs to start their own businesses which will impact on one million new entrepreneurs in a four year period, business incubators will be instituted in all tertiary institutions for graduates to start and grow their own businesses.” He noted
On Agriculture, Mr. Akpaloo said LPG will provide subsidies to support commercial rice and poultry production nationwide to discourage the importation of the said produce into the country by saving foreign exchange on other priority areas of the economy.
“My party will bring Ghanaians irrespective of their political affiliation together to enhance good governance by turning the socio-economic growth and development of the country into a developed economy”, he said.
For her part, Mrs Margaret Obrian Sarfo urged party supporters to work and campaign vigorously for the party’s presidential and parliamentary candidates to effectively and efficiently bring the LPG into power.
She therefore expressed her profound gratitude to the founder and leader of the party for nominating her as his running mate and promised to exhibit her talents and skills to bring victory to the party.
